Join in the Spectacular Carnival celebrations
The town centre is set to come alive with spectacular colourful costumes, music from around the globe, street entertainers, and international food to tickle your taste buds.
Luton International Carnival is organised on behalf of Luton Borough Council by Luton Cultural Services Trust's Arts Development Unit. The Council and Trust's partner for carnival arts is the UK Centre for Carnival Arts.
More than 40 different groups, clubs, schools, societies and communities taking part, bringing nearly 2000 people together in an eye catching, breath taking procession, demonstrating a diverse mix of arts, music and culture. And with the masquerade groups, sounds trucks, steel bands, DJs and stilt walkers, this will be a spectacular parade - guaranteed to be one of the highlights of the day.
The parade will assemble in Wardown Park, but accompanying vehicles will gather on New Bedford Road. The procession will move off at 1.30pm.
Hucklesby Way and Alma Street will be great places for people to see parade groups performing their lively dance routines and the parade judging point and performance area will be in a new location adjacent to The Moor.
The parade route:
Start at Wardown Park - New Bedford Road - Hucklesby Way - Old Bedford Road - Guildford Street - Bridge Street - Manchester Street - Town Hall - Upper George Street - Alma Street - New Bedford Road. End at Wardown Park.
